Remove medium, rinse monolayer with fresh 0.25 % trypsin, 0.02 M EDTA solution. After 1 minute add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. The depositor recommends scraping the cells for subcultivation after incubation with 0.5 Mm EDTA in PBS for 45 to 75 minutes. However, there is no evidence that the different subcultivation methods affect the properties of this line.

Cell growth is inhibited by cortisol. The cells express antigens characteristic of intestine epithelia. The distribution stock is capable of 15 population doublings.
